Tucked away in a hidden corner of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, Crater Lake Tented Camp & Game
Sanctuary offers a stirring encounter with wild Africa.
Crater Lake tented camp is set inside a bush at a private sanctuary. It is situated at 6,300 feet at the
bottom of an extinct volcano on the shores of the green soda lake.
The Crater Lake camp has also gained the reputation of being among the most romantic camps in Kenya.
Crater Lake Tented Camp is one of the most peaceful, memorable back-to-nature experiences you will ever have.
Treat yourself by taking a magical safari in Kenya to a quiet and tranquil place.
The alkaline Lake changes from blue to emerald green and back again with each passing hour, and is
the nesting place for a myriad of birds, the fish eagles, busy weavers, cheeky robin chats, ibis, kite,
ducks, sun birds, fire finches, and the tiny and colourful cordon bleu.
Escorted nature walks around the crater or across the plains on to Lake Naivasha and sundowners at the ‘leopard rock’ overlooking The Crater Lake and the camp beyond are very popular.
Crater Lake has 10 luxurious tents, 4 bandas and 1 honeymoon suite making the total number of rooms
to 15. Each tent occupies its own clearing, with secluded veranda offering spectacular views across the lake. No noise - just the twittering of birds and the sound of the acacias blowing in the African wind. Here, you can sip chilled champagne and dine on the finest cordon bleu cuisine under the watchful gaze of genet cats and Colobus monkeys. After dinner, the expert trackers will transport you to another world among the hippos, giraffes and leopards that call the Camp’s private game sanctuary home. Dinner and Breakfast are served in the main flamingo restaurant and lunch is served at the famous floating restaurant on the lake. The camp is well known for its great soups, roasts, desserts and generous helpings of everything. At Crater Lake camp you are at peace with nature.
